Youth Succeeding through Training Restorative Initiatives Volunteering and Education

Our History

We started on July 4th of 2006 and ySTRIVE now has 300+ youth members and is the ONLY independent volunteer-based, member-driven, prevention and intervention, 501(c)(3) organization in Santa Barbara run entirely by youth and young adults. Thie idea of having an organization that would grow organically comes from the three 17 year-old La Cuesta High School students that are its founding members. This organic and unconventional project truly puts youth first!

Our Mission

We strive to remain a youth-initiated, member-driven youth organization consisting of integrated short and long term, member-identified projects that focus on the fundamental causes of at-risk, high-risk and gang-risk behaviors in youth and offer alternatives to youth violence.

We strive to provide growth opportunities through membership  that produce relevant measurable successes in finance, education, and societal restoration for youth and their families to create safe, healthy, progressive and just communities.

We strive to one day be self-sufficient through our youth businesses and become a leader in year-round youth employment. We strive to promote life-long education as a tool to replace program dependancy with community and self-advocacy.
