Who Are The Youth Of yStrive for Youth, Inc. ?

We are youth ages 11 to 17 and young adults 18 to 25, that have come together out of the need to address concerns in our neighborhoods. You might consider us at-risk or high-risk, and maybe that's true, but if you ask us " we are just livin' life and doing the best we can".  Some of us go to schools with your children while others are in a continuation or court school, some of us are currently involved in the juvenile justice system and others are gang-risk. You may think you know us from how we dress, talk or look, but we don't think you do, because we are also college students, parents and everyday working people just like you.

What Is Our Mission?

To assist our peers that you can not or will not reach. To better identify and address the direct results of high-risk behavior in terms that relate to us, while learning to set real goals for the futures we can have. To assist in reducing youth-on-youth violence from the inside out and provide alternatives to drugs and alcohol abuse, truancy and teen pregnancy by promoting education, training and volunteering.

How We Will Do It?

To help address the causes of high-risk behavior in our peers we will provide: * Alternative team-building activities through sports, events and retreats. * Educational incentives to truant youth and those beyond high school age. * Career readiness training and job assistance. * Support to the families in our neighborhoods through volunteering and the creation of restorative initiatives.

How Can You Help?

Get involved - Call us to ask where you can be the most help. We gratefully accept all monetary donations on our "Doing Your Share" page, but most of all we need adults to help as mentors, advisors and employers. We believe that you just like us can make a difference in our neighborhoods one life at a time.
